Bowser, the infamous villain from the Mushroom Kingdom, has been captured! He's being held captive by Princess Peach herself, who has taken him prisoner after he tried to take over her kingdom. Bowser is furious at this turn of events but knows there's no way out.

As he sits in his cell, he can hear the sounds of battle outside as Mario and Luigi fight off their enemies. But even though they are winning, it seems like they will never be able to defeat Bowser himself. Suddenly, something catches Bowser's eye - a small star floating above him.

It looks like a gift from Princess Peach, but what could she possibly want? With nothing left to lose, Bowser reaches up towards the star and grabs hold of it tightly. Just then, everything goes black...
