The year is 1938, and the scene takes place at a glamorous party hosted by one of New York's most prominent families. The guests are dressed to impress, but none more so than the beautiful young lady who has just arrived. She stands out from the crowd in her striking black and white corset and matching hat, which frames her face perfectly.

Her eyes sparkle as she looks around the room, taking it all in. As she makes her way through the throng of people, someone approaches her and asks if they can take a photograph together. Without hesitation, she agrees, and the man snaps away while she strikes various poses.

He then tells her he will send her a copy once it is developed. She thanks him profusely before moving on to mingle with other guests. As she does so, she catches sight of another couple across the room.

In the chaos, our heroine finds herself separated from everyone else. She stumbles upon a small group of survivors hiding underneath some tables. One of them offers her his hand, and she gratefully accepts.

Together, they make their way outside into the night sky, where they find themselves surrounded by flames and smoke. They have no choice but to keep going until they reach safety. And so they do, eventually arriving at a nearby town where they receive medical attention and food.

Our heroine is forever changed by this experience, but she knows deep down inside that she must continue fighting against evil wherever it may lurk.
